Growing up in the rural area of Chadiza District, my childhood was abruptly altered when my father passed away in 2005. My mother, determined to provide a better life for my elder sister and me, relocated us to Chipata City. However, life in Chipata wasn’t easy, and my mother struggled to find stable employment, leading to a cycle of debt that threatened to consume us.
Despite the challenges, I found solace in education, recognizing it as the key to breaking free from our financial struggles. I returned to school, determined to succeed, and graduated from Chipata Day Secondary School with the best score in my intake.
After completing high school, I prioritized paying off my mother’s debts, using my savings and income to settle the loans. Although I had to drop out of university due to financial constraints, I continued to work hard, eventually paying off all my mother’s debts and sponsoring myself through university.
Through my experiences, I learned the importance of financial literacy and education. I wrote a book to share my story, hoping to educate and inspire others who face similar challenges. Today, I am a full-time student at the University of Lusaka, pursuing my dream of becoming a medical doctor.
My journey has taught me that education is not just a pathway to personal success; it is a means to uplift families and communities. I have dedicated myself to sharing my knowledge and experiences with others, creating content on social media platforms that focuses on financial literacy, public health, tourism, culture, African Development and good governance.
In less than 10 months, my social media page has grown to nearly 100,000 followers, an example to the impact of sharing valuable and relevant content. My goal is to continue inspiring and educating others, using my platform to make a positive difference in the world.
